The choice applies to widgets, maps and forecasts. Actual station readings stay unchanged. Automatic tries Open-Meteo first, then available direct sources if a supported request fails.
Weather widgets · meteogram, ensembles and satellite
Choose a 7-day outlook, interactive meteogram, true ensembles or satellite imagery. Share the view or embed it with a link to the relevant Xionia forecast.
Embed a 7-day weather forecast with lows, highs, precipitation and icons. Choose a location worldwide, Greek or English, and a light or dark theme.
Configure your weather widget
The My location button requests permission only when the visitor clicks it. The forecast switches to their coordinates and links to the corresponding Xionia page. Your initial choice, such as Everest, remains available through Default location. If the browser restricts location inside an iframe, the widget offers a link to locate on Xionia.
How to embed it
Copy the code into an HTML block on your website. The width adapts to the available space; days scroll horizontally in narrow columns. Clicking the widget opens the detailed location forecast on Xionia.
The forecast blends available GFS, ECMWF IFS 9 km, AIGFS, AIFS and GEM data. It shows daily lows / highs, precipitation and indicative weather in each location’s local time. Agios Stefanos station calibration is not applied to other locations.
Data source: Open-Meteo · Terms of use . This version uses the free API for non-commercial use. Commercial sites or high traffic require a suitable subscription and a server cache.
Forecast sources and model coverage
Open-Meteo
A data service supplying NOAA, ECMWF and ECCC forecasts. Available model names and grids are shown with each forecast.
NOAA / ECMWF / GEM
Direct GFS, AIGFS, IFS, AIFS and GEM/GDPS data from the Xionia cache when a complete recent cycle is available. Supported grids are GFS 0.25° / 0.5°, AIGFS 0.25°, IFS 0.25°, AIFS 0.25° and GEM 0.15°.
How models combine
Each available family contributes once per variable. Direct forecasts select the freshest available GFS grid and use equal family weights as the baseline. Local weights apply only where enabled after validation. The comparison shows actual percentages and model cycles.
Coverage and missing values
A dash means unavailable data. Wind and gust may use different models. AIGFS temperature is excluded when it cannot be compared on the same elevation basis. Six-hour precipitation is water equivalent, not snow depth.
Time window
A “Today” label with hours in parentheses covers only the stated time window; subsequent days require full local coverage. Days 8–14 are a less certain outlook. Agreement between models is not a probability from a true ensemble.
