Weather forecast maps for Slovenia
Explore temperature, precipitation, wind, pressure and cloud cover in the Xionia weather maps. Select a region or country, then compare the GFS, ECMWF IFS, ECMWF AIFS, AIGFS and GEM models where data are available.
Latest model runs, compared at the same valid time
Each model uses its latest available complete run. Switching models preserves the forecast date and time, even when their run times differ. If a field or time is unavailable, the map shows a clear message rather than substituting another forecast. The model, native grid resolution, run time and valid time are printed on each map.
Temperature, precipitation and wind maps
View temperature at 850 hPa, air temperature at 2 metres, wind at 10 metres, gusts where available, mean sea-level pressure, cloud cover and freezing level. Air temperature at 2 metres is not soil temperature.
The 6-hour precipitation forecast covers the six hours ending at the selected valid time. The 12, 24 and 48-hour accumulation maps sum complete intervals within one run. Total precipitation since run start can cover different periods for different models. Check the printed start and end times before comparing accumulations.

How to read the maps
Forecasts describe model grid values, not station measurements. Temperature at 2 metres is air temperature and is not adjusted to a city's elevation. The 850 hPa level can be below ground in high mountains.
Precipitation is the water equivalent of all precipitation types. Categorical snow, rain, freezing-rain and ice-pellet fields are not probabilities or snow depths. Missing values remain unshaded; zero remains a valid value. Colour thresholds are fixed for each field and model comparison. Unit changes affect labels and readouts, not the underlying forecast or thresholds.
Contours interpolate within the available grid and do not cross missing cells. City values use the nearest displayed grid point. Large regions may use a coarser sample of the native grid; its spacing appears below the map. These maps do not add resolution to the model.
The world map covers 75°S to 80°N. The United States view covers the contiguous states; Alaska and Hawaii have separate views. Soil-temperature and 500 hPa fields are not included in the current collection.
