GFS · ECMWF IFS · AIGFS · AIFS · GEM. Forecast at an indicative destination point; not a summit forecast or live snow depth.
Equal-weight blend of available complete local days. Days 8–14 are less certain; missing data remain blank. Snowfall cm are fresh snow, not snow depth. Sea-level pressure. Terrain temperature downscaling by Open-Meteo; no Agios Stefanos calibration. A point forecast cannot describe every piste or assess avalanche danger. Open-Meteo
This summary uses the destination’s fixed coordinates and the historical service’s terrain elevation. It does not change with the forecast’s manual elevation setting. Mountain terrain, wind redistribution and snowmaking are not fully represented. Snowfall days do not indicate opening days or piste snow depth.

The historical summary loads automatically…
| Month | Mean low °C | Mean high °C | Precipitation mm/month | Rain days/month | Snowfall days/month |
|---|
These are ERA5 reanalysis estimates on an approximately 25 km grid, with provider temperature downscaling, rather than station observations or official records. This decade is not a 30-year climate normal.
Rain day: liquid rain ≥1 mm. Snowfall day: modeled new snowfall ≥0.1 cm, which does not imply snow cover. Precipitation includes rain and the water equivalent of snow. Snow frequencies are especially approximate in mountainous and coastal locations.
Monthly averages use complete months and annual averages use complete years for each variable. Temperature extremes use complete available years within this decade. Coverage is shown on the cards and in table cell tooltips. This historical summary does not apply a forecast calibration.

A downhill ski area in Isère, France, with mapped lift-served terrain.
Check the operator’s current piste map, lift status and access information before setting off.
Consider temperature, fresh snow and wind together. Conditions at the base may differ from the upper slopes. Set an elevation in the forecast to explore a different level of the mountain.
Villard de Lans - Corrençon · Isère, France. A downhill ski area in Isère, France, with mapped lift-served terrain. Check the operator’s current piste map, lift status and access information before setting off.
Mapped terrain in Villard de Lans - Corrençon spans approximately 1,108–2,055 m. Compare the forecast elevation with that range when looking at rain versus snow or temperatures at different heights. These are mapping figures, not a report of current open terrain.
Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne is approximately 69 km to the northeast of this point. Compare the two forecasts if your day includes both locations. This is a straight-line distance, not a road route.
For skiing and snowboarding, distinguish predicted new snowfall from measured snow depth on pistes. Compare wind, temperatures and the selected forecast elevation; a village point is not a lift station or summit. For summer hiking and sightseeing, the same hourly outlook helps you plan around cloud and rain. Check current piste, lift and route updates with the operator.
Around the June solstice, daylight is approximately 15 h 40 min; around the December solstice, 8 h 50 min. This helps plan the time available for an outing or photography. These are approximate astronomical daylight lengths, not sunshine forecasts; cloud and the local horizon can reduce usable light.
Use the 2016–2025 weather history below to compare months using temperature, rain and modelled snowfall. It is a ten-year reanalysis summary, not a 30-year climate normal or a record from a weather station.
Distances are in a straight line. Remote locations may have distant comparison points. These links do not define a route, lift connection or border crossing.

Artificial Intelligence Global Forecast System: a machine-learning model initialized from NOAA atmospheric analyses.
Integrated Forecasting System: the intergovernmental European centre’s numerical model. IFS 9 km and IFS 0.25° are products of the same model family on different data grids.
Artificial Intelligence Forecasting System: this page uses AIFS Single, which produces one forecast scenario.
Global Environmental Multiscale: the atmospheric model within Canada’s GDPS. The current system combines numerical prediction with large-scale guidance from the GEML AI model.
The blend uses the values available for each day and variable. Coverage falls as individual models reach their forecast limits. The two IFS products are not independent models. Model spread shows disagreement, not the probability of a weather event.
Wind: maximum daily speed at 10 m and prevailing direction of origin. Direction uses a speed-weighted circular calculation; missing or strongly opposing directions display a dash. 🥶: low below 0°C. 🥵: high above 30°C. 💨 in Conditions: wind at least 40 km/h or gusts at least 60 km/h.

The Source control selects data for widgets, weather maps and forecast tables. Xionia shows the provider used and the loading progress.
Open-Meteo is a weather data service. It distributes forecasts from weather centres including NOAA, ECMWF and Environment and Climate Change Canada. Each model calculates how the atmosphere may evolve in its own way. Xionia compares the available values for each day and variable using the rules described in the forecast methodology.
NOAA is the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Its Global Forecast System, GFS, produces worldwide forecasts. The direct Xionia backup uses a GFS product on a 0.5° grid with 6-hour steps. This describes the product loaded here; other GFS products have different resolutions. Daily values are estimates derived from these steps, and snowfall in centimetres is unavailable from this backup.
Automatic tries Open-Meteo first. If a supported forecast request fails, it switches to NOAA. Choosing Open-Meteo or NOAA GFS selects that particular source. The NOAA backup downloads larger files, so its first load may take longer and use more mobile data.
The provider, available model, grid and forecast issue time can change the values. A dash means missing data. Model agreement is not a percentage probability, and days 8–14 have greater uncertainty. Observations from the Agios Stefanos station, historical ERA5 reanalysis and the daily FWI index have their own sources and are unaffected by this control.
